Wacky Web Fun - Racing Frogs
Wacky Web Funare the brains behind the popular online game Racing Frogs. Racing Frogs was first launched in 2001, but really took off in 2004 when it was relaunched and featured as Steve Wright's, Website of the Day on BBC Radio 1. Currently, there are over 1,000,000 registered players across the three Racing Frog websites: Frog Pond, Stumpy Creek, and Windymore Lake.
Features of the Racing Frogs website
Almost the entire front end, the part players see, is Adobe Flash based. We built it this way to allow us to create a true game like experience and all of the character designs, animations, and illustrations were done in-house by Iogen. An important consideration during the developing of this website was creating a scalable solution that can cope with lots of similtanious visitors.
We have also worked on additional projects for Wacky Web Fun. These projects include an interactive game called Beware the Spiders, that featured as a challenge on several episodes of the CiTV show Play the Game broadcast on ITV. Other projects we have worked on include a talking character called Boris the Frog, and a touch screen game based on the Racing Frogs concept.
